Mark McGrath
British Abstract Artist

McGrath creates large-scale abstract paintings that explore tension, energy and spatial balance.

Working with layered surfaces, decisive gestures and restrained colour palettes, his paintings occupy a space between structure and disruption. Recurring fields of black and acid yellow create a visual language that evokes signal, interference, resonance and movement.

Rather than describing specific places or narratives, the work is intended to generate a physical response — a sense of momentum, pressure and unresolved energy.

Each painting evolves through repeated construction and removal, allowing order and instinct to compete within the same surface.
