ARTIST

Mark McGrath was born in Manchester, England in 1972. He studied graphic design, followed by a career as an art director in advertising at some of the worlds most prestigious advertising and design practices in Sydney, London and Manchester. Mark’s passion for painting spans 20 years and is becoming known for his large, abstract, highly expressive paintings. His canvases capture experience, cultural and historic storytelling, which are all shaped by movement, impact, spontaneity and thought. With an audacious manner he redefines abstract structures with bold sculptural brush strokes and marks using conventional and non conventional instruments. His work is both an aesthetic exploration and a questioning of the essence of abstract image making.
